Our annual school year kicks off with the Stuff the Bus community event designed to benefit students of the Las Cruces Public Schools system whose families struggle to purchase supplies for the new school year. We work in partnership with the LCPS Foundation to collect supplies ranging from notebook paper, binders, pencils, pens, markers, glue, bookbags, lunch boxes, pencil boxes, and more! Over the course of about six weeks our stations built momentum for the campaign with sponsored donation bins at participating Drop-Off locations around the community and live broadcast donation drives, culminating in our big, annual, day-long, Radiothon. The Radiothon included all Bravo Mic radio stations.with station tents and vehicles and a school bus from the local school fleet at our presenting sponsor, Ashley Furniture Homestore. With the help of the sponsor, their customers, passersby, and a few community groups, we were able to stuff the bus full of much needed supplies. Simultaneously, through an online link and text-to-donate number posted on our Las Cruces Today website, Bravo Mic Communications was able to help the Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation raise in excess of $15,000.
