The Digital Photographer combines artistic talent, technical expertise, and composition skills to produce videos that will provide a visual story on a given topic for multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Shoots and edits news video stories, including daily news, special news, features, sports and live events
  • Produce content for multiple platforms, including online and TV
  • Work with management to enterprise and develop stories daily
  • Maintains and operates camera equipment as well as company vehicle safely and efficiently
  • Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic shots and interviews
  • Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write a story according to Associated Press style and format standards
  • Gather and verify information regarding stories through interview, observation and research
  • Live stream news events for online and TV
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in broadcasting, journalism or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years of video photography
  • Proficient in WordPress and social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook
  • Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Demonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere
Work Environment/Mental/Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to operate computer and editing machine.
  • High stress environment with deadline pressures and the demands of breaking news, which can happen at any time.
  • Position will require day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority.
  • Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts as necessary, including overnights/early morning, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel will be required on a regular basis. Position requires the transport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Position often requires work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
