Job Description: Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Direct or technical direct weekend news broadcast. Supervision of production staff in audio, floor, videotape and master control. Mark and assign all videotape sources and assign crew as required to execute several news programs as laid out by the producer. Technical directing duties include record and playback of necessary DEKO graphics and animations, operate the Philips DD35 video switcher, and other production equipment as needed. Responsible for marking all scripts and directing all crew members in their assigned duties. Other duties include directing, assistant directing, technical directing, and other assigned duties both live and on videotape. Regular other duties may include morning fill-in shifts.
Qualifications: Applicant must have a minimum of two years production experience in news operation. Strong working knowledge of news procedures, studio camera, floor directing, VTR operations, audio operations and character generation. Knowledge of Philips DD35 or similar switchers is required. Knowledge of DEKO 3000 is strongly encouraged as well. Strong leadership ability, and ability to work well under pressure is a must.
Other Requirements: The following physical requirements are typical, but all-inclusive: Good hand/eye coordination. Must sit for extended periods of time. Good hearing a must. Will also be required to lift and carry cables and equipment up to 30 lbs.

Review pre-emption report daily. Prioritize by dollar amount and time left in flight. Your goal is to make every pre-empted spot good.

Make sure all new advertisers or agencies have an approved credit application or cash in advance prior to start of schedule.
Attend all sales meetings. (Times and days subject to management discretion)
Must complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion, including: Call Sheets, Appointment Sheets, Forecast Sheets and other forms as necessary.
Prepare written advertiser revenue projections, and other reports as requested by Local Sales Manager or General Sales Manager.
Make sure that all company procedures, dates and information are kept secure and confidential.
Must achieve goals set by sales managers for selling special revenue opportunities as they are made available (i.e. Sports packages, special promotions packages, value-added promotions, etc.)
Adhere to all policies in the Sales Policies and Procedures Guidelines.
